Wow! It's all I can say. We just got back to the hotel from an amazing trip on the Sea of Galilee! Among our other sites today, we were in the Golan Heights (yes, we could see snow), Tel Dan, and Caesarea Philippi. Here are some quick shots....
All 90 of us (well, minus a few who thought they would get sick) fit on one boat and had a GREAT boat ride on the Sea of Galilee.
Caesarea Philippi - where the Jordan River Starts (the water comes from Mount Hermon - which was full of snow...they will be skiing this weekend) and it is the place where Christ gathered his disciples and asked them "Who do they say I am and who do you think I am?" It was here Christ told Peter that on he would build his church on Peter's profession that he was Messiah. From here, they made their way to Jerusalem for his crucifixion.
At the top of Tel Dan and looking out over to a Lebanese town - yes....LEBANON people ;-)
An altar built for sacrifice in Tel Dan so the people would not have to travel to the southern kingdom to sacrifice. Of course, the iron structure is a replica (it would have been stone) but you can see the "horns of the altar".
The weather today was amazing! It was a little muddy on our hike up Tel Dan, but beautiful clear skies. The Sea of Galilee was calm and amazing. We are so blessed and having a GREAT time! Tomorrow we leave the Sea of Galilee area (Tiberius) and head to the southern part of Israel to Jerusalem. I can't wait for this part of the journey.
